E/CLAN Workshop was Successful

The project had held its 2011 E/CLAN workshop at maranata hall from 4th to 8th April 2011. During the workshop the project had welcomed its new project officer from Australia Mrs Aletia Dundas and farewell the out going project officer Miss Zoe Bedford. At the workshop all Solomon Island project staffs and the community learning centre coordinators have attended the meeting. According to the participants general feed back, they have highlighted during the worskshop that such meeting helps alot in bringing participants from Solomon Islands different provinces which provide an learning avenue and an opportunity for information sharings. The workshop also enhance all involved to obtained new information to effectively implement both the project and CLC activities. According to the project, the workshop was a review and reffelection meeting. Thus, with such feed back from the participants the workshop had truely attain its intended objectives and is a succesful meeting.

NEW PROVINCIAL LEARNING COORDINATOR (PLC) FOR ISABEL PROVINCE

The project in the month of March 2011 had hired a new PLC for Isabel province. This was in the project's endevor to expand the CLAN network in the Solomon Islands rural areas. The new PLC for Isabel province is Eddie Rara. He will be responsible for coordinating the project acitivities towards the community learning centres in that Province. It was a break through for the project as it will enter into new communities in the Isabel province. The project had official welcomed the new PLC into its work team when it held its first staff reflection workshop mid march 2011. Currently, the project employees 8 PLCs and 7 Honiara office based staffs.
